What each solution actually is

Emydex describes its platform as using a “core plus modules” approach, with a significant portion of functionality delivered through a shared core platform used across different industries such as seafood, poultry, beef, pork, value added processing, and more. Additional capabilities are provided through industry-specific modules, with further configuration tailored to the needs of individual customers. The exact composition of these elements can vary depending on the specific implementation.

Primary processing

For Primary Processors, Emydex’s solution includes full kill floor tracking from animal receiving through to finished goods shipping, providing customers traceability, yield management, and QA management.

Symphony was designed to provide deep functionality and hardware integration across the kill floor with key features such as:

Most mid-size plants are not running a single-vendor kill floor. They have trolley systems from one supplier, grading equipment from another, and RFID readers from a third. ‍Secondary processing

Emydex's modular design allows processors to add production management functionality, including yield tracking, stock reporting, and quality data capture, through their core platform.

Emydex is a hardware-agnostic software platform that integrates with third-party plant floor technologies.

Carlisle takes a different approach. Our hardware lineup, including the iCap plant floor computer, label printers, barcode scanners, and scale systems, is purpose-built for meat processing environments and integrates directly with Symphony.

ERP integration

Most mid-size processors already have an ERP or accounting system that works. Replacing it is not something anyone wants to take on.
