How Order Fulfillment Works

Sales Order Creation / Import

The Order Fulfillment process begins when users create new sales orders directly in Symphony’s order management application or import them from their ERP system. Orders can be scheduled in advance or created on the day of shipment. Once created, the order is ready to be released to the plant floor for picking.

Order Picking

On the plant floor, operators can view all released orders. Using Symphony Mobile, they can access detailed order information and see the inventory locations for each required product. Management-defined picking rules ensure that operators select the correct items for every order.

Order Review and Paperwork Printing

After picking is complete, office staff review and approve each order, assign loads to trucks, and print necessary shipping documents such as Bills of Lading.

Automated Invoicing

Once the order has shipped, Symphony automatically sends invoice information to the plant’s accounting or ERP system. This eliminates the need for entering the same order data twice and streamlines back-office processes.
