The profitability of the
meat processing business is based on

This data is used to pay suppliers, to
optimize coolers, to adjust cutting

traceability from the finished goods
back to the individual source animal.
Labels and tags work well for small operations, but they add processing time and can go missing. RFID tags are better, but they may have durability issues in extreme plant environments where chemicals, temperatures, and physical damage are unavoidable.

How it works:
A unique pattern of
holes are drilled into each trolley,
similar to a license plate (the pattern
allows 40,353,607 combinations, ensuring
no duplicates). Holes are kept clear
throughout the process with the use of an
optional high-pressure air blower.
A Trolley Vision reader, using the latest technology in digital imagery, automatically scans the pattern and sends the unique trolley ID to a controller so that the weight or grade data can be recorded against the proper animal.
