The EBC-C3PLUS  733MHz motherboard (Part #5458450), used in earlier Protector 4800 and 5800 workstations, has reached end of life status, and is unavailable for purchase. Some refurbished boards may be available for unique situations.

This board is superseded by the EBC-855 motherboard (Part #5458464)., which has been Carlisle’s standard in the Protector 4800 and Protector 5800 for the past few years.

Omni-Weigh and iCap software are unaffected by this change. Some customer networks may need additional testing to ensure compatibility with the EBC-855 motherboard.

The Protector 4800 product will no longer be offered for sale by Carlisle as of August 1, 2011.
The Protector 5800 will be offered as a direct replacement, having the same CPU and touchscreen.

Customers requiring expanded connectivity will be accommodated through the use of an external I/O box

Service and support will be unaffected for existing Protector 4800 units.
